Working from home has advantages and disadvantages, though more people may be working outside the traditional office in a variety of ways. There are a few things I have noticed about working, learning, and researching from home. Traffic jams are never an issue, unless of course it is Internet traffic issues. Work days are not normal, unless one has a real handle on time organization. I believe or feel that those that work in non traditional settings or from home may actually put in longer days or more hours per week than the time clock office person. There is no clear division between the work and non work day, and the work from or at home individual needs to set limits.
This morning, I found an interesting article that appeared in the Rocky Mountain News: Technology Section. Mentioned are several alternative telecommute examples. Hoteling seems to be an area that has been gaining some popularity and rapid growth... cubicle time sharing, where people only work a limited amount of their hours in the corporate office.
