Memorial Day
Despite threatening skies, thunder, lightning, and rain ... the parade in our village was very well attended and the Memorial Service and Blue Star Dedication at the corner park was very nice. It appeared most everyone had a fine time or were having fun. It has been raining off and on for weeks around here.

A little girl near me had been collecting candy from several participants in the parade. One had landed in front of my feet, but it appeared her dad had to call her back before she could get it. I stepped forward and got it for her and handed it to her father, though I noticed the tiny girl with the big umbrella already had a few in her overflowing hands. She did not seem willing to give them over to dad for safekeeping.
